The Solent Design Awards
In collaboration with Mark Smith

Sponsored by PUSH (Partnership for Urban South Hampshire), the Solent Design Awards are all about the encouragement of Quality place-making: schemes that create special places, lift communities and create richer experiences.

The trophy design is a three dimensional representation of the Solent Design Awards logo created in stainless steel and clear resin. The words ‘Solent Design Awards’ appear to float in the clear resin base, reflecting the Solent waters, with the stainless vertical plane containing information about the category and the date of the presentation.

Visit Scotland logo

The Thistle Awards are recognized as the Scottish tourist industry's highest accolade, rewarding deserving tourism businesses for their excellence and quality. For this commission Visit Scotland asked for a sculptural piece that reflected the main characteristics of the Scottish Tourist Industry - modern and forward thinking, yet founded on strong historic and cultural traditions

The resulting design, a stylized version of the Visit Scotland logo was cut from stainless steel and mounted on a wooden base made of Scottish Elm. The steel elements meet the wood in such a way that a Saltire cross is created, emphasizing the Scottish focus of this award. The modern clean lines of the stainless steel form provide an exciting contrast with the complex grain of the polished wood, which represents the rugged beauty of the Scottish landscape

The Farmers Weekly Agricultural Awards
In collaboration with Silversculpture

Farmer Weekly logo

The Farmers Weekly Agricultural Awards are constructed of three main elements, which together are symbolic of the UK’s Agricultural industry past, present and, most importantly, future

The design touches on the barriers and difficulties that farmers have faced in the recent past but is in essence a symbol of hope and aspiration which focuses on the entrepreneurial steps that many farmers are now taking. The stainless steel ploughshare-based form emerges from a patinated mild steel top plate. The metal elements are mounted on a block of English oak, which was chosen for its association with traditional farm buildings. The design etched on the surface of the metal is a composition depicting all of the farming categories recognized through the ceremony
